Recently we announced that we expanded our workforce when Bonnie Andersson was employed to drive the Supplier Network. Now we're growing with another employee, Mikael Carlsson, who will work focused on developing the cluster's small and medium enterprises.
High Voltage Valley started in 2010 working with ABB to identify a number of strategically important suppliers located in the region. In 2011 this work resulted in an application with Länsstyrelsen Dalarna for founding to start up and run a development project with these identified companies, called the supplier network. In the summer of 2011 our application got approved and Länsstyrelsen will co-finance the project with just over 1,2 million SEK and the companies in the network finance as much.
Now, finaly, our Thesis portal is ready! After being under construction this spring it's now complete and ready to accept new students for exciting thesis projects.

The aim of the project "High Voltage Valley, an arena for developing tomorrow's technology and entrepreneurship in electric power engineering" is to develop the innovative environment, consisting of companies, universities and public actors, which form the basis for the region's global leadership in electric power engineering. In order to achieve this High Voltage Valley receives 5.8 million SEK from EU Reginal development fund and an equal combined amount from the other financiers, Region Dalarna, Ludvika Municipality, Smedjebackens Municipality and Falun Borlänge region AB. The total project budget is at 11.6 million SEK during the years 2011-2013.
Powerful Innovation Day was a really successful and exciting day with several interesting presentations and exciting encounters. Approximately 100 participants gathered at Infocenter, ABB in Ludvika to take advantage of the extensive content.
